Just wanted to check Matthew's dosing...

He's on Losec 1 x a day, and Zantac 3 x a day. He is 14 weeks and weighed 16lb 10oz last week, so I'm guessing about 17lb now. He is on 0.5mg of Losec once a day, and 0.4ml of Zantac 3 times a day, so 1.2ml in total of Zantac for the day.

Is this still correct? My Ped is on vacation and I'm not sure.

rachel, sorry for the delay. The zantac is usually dosed for gerd as 4 - 10 mg/kg/day divided twice daily. You are giving 18 mg /day. The dose range is usually twice to four times what you are giving. For ulcer conditions, it is 2-4 mg/kg/day, you are giving more like 2.3 mg/kg/day.

PS. the losec of 0.5 mg daily is also low. It is usually 1 mg/kg/day. Based on 8 kg child this is is 8 mg.
