I havent gone through this with my own daughter but a lot of moms here have. I'm sure someone will respond with an answer as to what they did.

If I remember correctly they do keep them on their meds during the scan though.

Hi,

Our GI took Allie off of her Reglan for 24 hours prior to the emptying scan. Prevacid she stayed on, but if you leave your little one on the REglan (which increases motility), you won't get accurate results. I.E., you could get a result that your little one does not have DGE when they really do, but that the medicine was making it look like there is no DGE.

You may want to call your GI to discuss this once again.

Well, I'm glad I could help.

If it makes you feel any better, our GI said that Reglan gets out of the system pretty quick, so 24 hours should be ok.

Allie did so well without her Reglan when we went for the emptying scan, that we just stopped it altogether at that point. She's been off ever since. The scary side effects always bothered me, so I don't think she'll ever go back on that stuff.

Good luck. We couldn't get Allie to lay still for her test so it ended up being a no-go. I have no idea if her emptying has improved, but I think it has because she does take bigger bottles now (still no solid foods though).
