hi guys

As miki has been refluxing worse with her tube we started thickenig again with gaucol we had to stop thickening at one opuint as her oesophagus was really inflamed but as that has stled down due to increase of meds we thought we would try i again to try and help with the reflux how ever it seems to once again course problem

her last feed was at 2.30 we managed to thicken it enough that time so she did not puke (reflux aint sient at the moment) but now being 5.30 her tummy is still completely full and hard she has been screaming in pain she is literally still as full as she was after her feed,

what do you guys think has the thickened feed made it harder for her tummy to empty, the same thing hapened when she had solids so that is why she is not having them until the gi does an endoscopy to look at the pyloris

my qestion is after all that rambling

does thick feeds make dge worseand is i normal to be full 3 hrs after a feed and i mean completely full

i am thinking that this is another sigh that the pyloric stenosis needs to be repaired again

I dont have any advice, but I would think the pyloric stenosis would keep the "food" in the stomach longer!

I hope someone with more knowledge responds to you and gives you some ideas.

Good luck!!

Amy, what is

started thickenig again with gaucol

My thought was Miki may become constipated easier depending on what you thicken with. So that may make her uncomfortable?

Best wishes

she does have major problems with constipation usually but since she had the gastro she is pooing normal for now, i am sure this will only last few days it is getting firmer by the minute, we are dreading that comeing back the thickener we have just started useing aparently is not supost to make her constipated but i have afeeling it will she get constipated just on neocate
but the thick formular seems to be just sat in her tummy in a big lump same as what happens with solids

I don't have any advice, just hugs. I hope you will be able to do something to get her feeling better.
