quick, knock on some wood!! lol. Have not noticed any wheezing past few days and her cough is getting better so prayerfully she is getting over this latest cold...hoping her cousins won't give her another one!!!! Quick question for you ladies..do you all continue using the asthma meds even when they seem ok to you? I have been still using the albuterol and flovent just in case but am wondering if her breathing issues will only bother her when she has a cold. You know, i'm wondering too, if she had RSV when she was in the hospital a few weeks back..they didn't test for it but I know that some symptoms are wheezing...maybe she just had that and does not have asthma...she had a chest x-ray and as far as I know, it was clear. From what I've read, the treatment for that is basically the same as it is with asthma..the nebulizer. Although asthma and allergies do run in the family on both sides..so who knows. Just might be one of those wait and see situations...

I still use the albuterol nebulizer for Emma when I hear her start wheezing. I don't use it as frequently, but I still like to have some handy. She hasn't used it since she had a cold in early October and then only 2x for 2 days.

Shanna,
so glad to hear Linda-Marie is better.
My son did the wheezing when he got a general cold, so he was put on preventative singulair chewable every night for the past year and a half. I definately dont' see any wheezing when he is sick anymore since then. I know a lot of kiddos that are on it.
May be consult your doc about it.

Generally we cut back on the alberterol and then halve the preventer about a week later. Great news that the breathing is better though.

We got the CF tests results today and they were negative too, lots of reasons to celebrate for us both! YAY!

Oh, that is so great to hear Rachel!! I think I may cut back on the flovent to once a day instead of twice and maybe the same with the albuterol..if she seems to be getting worse again, i'll go back to twice a day for both. I'm just so glad to hear her breathing normally especially when shes crawling around the house..instead of the wheezing! Keeping my fingers crossed she does not catch the flu this season!! We are planning on getting the shot for her only because of all the health issues shes been having.

I am so glad that she is feeling better. I think that generally when they have RSV they are really, really sick and their breathing gets really labored. KWIM?!

They swabbed Jack for it at his first appt. with this darn cold that we have had for a month, and it was clear. I didn't think it was RSV, he was acting fine, just that wheezing, you know?!

Anyway, knocking on lots of wood. HURRAY!:yahoo:
