hello,

my son has a g-tube and takes prevacid that has been made into a liquid suspension. the notes say to keep refridgerated but a couple of times i have left it out for 8 hours, oops. does this render the medicine ineffective?

also, my son is quite irritable and wakes up every hour at night after one 3 hour sleep. i heard from a friend that her child was world's better on nexium. do you know anything about the differences there?

my son is 4 months old, weighs about 14 lbs and is on 7.5 mg of prevacis/day.

regards,
rtebecca

Rebecca, out of the fridge it shortens the expirey by a few weeks, so you might find it lose effectiveness by the end of the month if that's how long you use it for. As far as nexium or prevacid, really everyone is different as far as response. Just as long as the max dose is tried before changing.
Thanks Graham Ph.C.
