Good Morning,
My son, Sammy, is 5 months old and weighs 12 lbs. He has been diagnosed with severe gerd and delayed gastric emptying. He currently sees his pediatrician and an ear, nose, and throat specialist. He is going to see a GI specialist at the end of Nov. In Aug. the ENT prescribed Prevacid 3mg/ml twice a day and Reglan 5 mg/5ml (1 ml.) 3x's a day.
About 4 weeks ago at the pediatrician's office I mentiuoned that Sammy has been quite fussy in the evening. She stopped the middle dose of the Reglan. The other day at his ENT's visit I told her everything and she not only put that dose back in but added one more and raised his dosage from 1 ml to 1.2 ml which he takes 4x's a day. I have been giving it to him 3x's a day because I am concerned with the different approaches from the doctors. Do the doses seem excessive to you? So far he seems to tolertate it, but he's been on them since he was so young I don't know what behavior is reflux or side effects. Also, the ENT said he is now failure to thrive.
Thank you for your time,
Kerri
