Was wondering how many of your little ones had a sweat test for whatever reason. Linda-Maries doc brought it up before we saw a pulmanologist for her breathing. He said he felt she did not have CF but it would just be something else to scratch off a list. Shes been wheezing and catching colds for the past 3 months. Other doc feels she has asthma. Granted, I dont feel the test would come back positive either but its just kinda hanging over my head. Should I just go ahead with it anyway just to get it out of the way or am I just being a crazy mommy??

Exactly what your Dr said, most Drs will get it done just to exclude it. In children with coughing or respiratory problems they do it so they know that it isn't that.

We have just had it done and they put some electrodes on their arms (which he was a little uncomfortable with) to help the sweat glands open up and then they stick on some blotting paper on their arms, wrap them up in jumpers and let them run around for 20minutes, this was the fun part and my son was very good through it all. they take off the paper and that is it.

It really is precautionary, at least if it is CF you know and get proper treatment, but also if it isn't every time she gets sick they won't be thinking, maybe it is CF.
