I was just wondering if anyone has tried homeopathic or natural remedies of dealing with reflux? My dad acutally suggested it to me, because Rachel has had bronchitis and pneumonia four times this year and with winter coming he suggested I help boost her immune system. So I went to a natural foods store, I told them what the problems were and they told me to give her acidoflosis, and chewable paypa tablets. They told me that both help in the aid of digestiation and boost her immune system. I can't really tell yet, but she has only been taking it for a couple of days. I was just wondering if anybody else has tried it and what kind of luck they have had. I'm to the point of trying anything as long as it keeps her out of the hospital and doctors office this winter.

We see a homeopath regularly, and to be honest we haven't seen much of an improvement, we have been going nearly 3 months. We are going to give it a total of 6 months though to see an improvement. It is really hard to know if there is an improvement whether it is the med or a good reflux week.

My advice would be because of the GERD issues and age to see a practising homeopath, people in health food stores have good intentions but are not trained in the field so to speak and could actually be doing worse than better. What I mean if you as an adult took something that didn't agree with you, you would know, but with Rachel, she can't tell you so please have a professional consult and they will lead you in the right direction. They are very thorough as they have over 3000 remedies to choose from.

The probiotics (acidopholus) is a really good thing though and should be given every day, this I have seen improvements with the number of infections and length of infections. This is scientific based and when your child is on meds is essential.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I tried one or two things which didn't help much.

Probiotics are always a good thing no matter what form they are in. When Mason was smalelr we gave the capsules in his formula at the GI's suggestion. Now that he is odler I give him some Yo Baby yogurt often :D
