Hi.

i have a copy of the ph probe they performed on my son about a month ago. it is hard to understand bc unlike a blood test....it doesnt have "norms".

Does anyone know what is considered mild/moderate or severe reflux? Im assuming its a ratio or reflux/time?

my son had 16 minutes of reflux in 11 hours (day time).

thanks in advance

First off it depends on a few things.

How many times did he reflux, how long was the longest, what is the Box ochea score.

If there are any other things you have on the results write them down and I will try help you with it.

Just saying that he refluxed 16minutes is hard to tell, because it could be one every 10 seconds, or it may just be 5 long ones KWIM?

we never got a copy of matthew ph study last year, but they showed it to me and said hes longest reflux episode was 56 mins at acid levesl of 1.0.

i dont think he very rarley went above 4.0 and always seemed to be below 2.0
we didnt get told how many reflux episodes he had in 24 hours just the longest and how low the acid levels got

We were 372 minutes in 20 hours but there were a lot of other factirs tat they took into account when they read it too.
