Thank you for your reply. I think Sarah doesn;t know jow to chew. She rolls the food around in her mouth then spits it out. So the mesh thing would help her learn how to chew? Where do I get one or is it the same thing as one of those safer net feeders you see in the store? Is there anything else I can do? I can't get her to take anything off the spoon while seated in the chair- she will only self feed in the chair. She will not let the spoon in her mouth but when she is running around the house she will open her mouth for the spoon- I just kind of have to stop her then she will open her mouth. I stop after a 1/2 hour. SO I guess you are saying this is a bad idea. I just can't get her to take anything off the spoon while in the chair.

Hi- one more thing. I was just reading the post for Allie. They sound so similar except Sarh never had a feeding tube. Sarh never leans forward to take the spoon in her mouth so I guess I am doing a form of force feeding which I never wanted to do. What is shoveling? I am probably doing that as well. It is so hard because Sarah is not gaining weight well and it's not like her bottle is any easier. So I should only give her the spoon if she leans forward for it or takes it herself? I think I have only seen her do this like three times.
