Hi

I mentioned in the past that I think Zach has some issues with SID...he is VERY VERY sensitive to loud noises etc
On the other hand, he is very very sociable and friendly...approaches kids all the time to play etc
BUT if other kids approach him or invade his personal space he can FREAK OUT
He can also freak out at anytime over something very very insignificant or small
We've done the shaving cream in the tub etc and he has NO problems with that
Is there anything I should do for him at this time...would any type of therapy help him at this point?
Is he just an ultra sensitive kid?

The people who evaluated Brayden for Early Start think that he has more sensory issues than anything else. They have him in a global program to address many issues, sensory being one of them. I have seen an improvement in the past two months he has been in their program. I think its the OT that is working on the sensory and some of the issues you mentioned get worked on with ABA therapies. (Although they say he is not autistic) He's too old for ealry intervention, but I think they do some of the same therapies through the school district...I'm not sure how they do the evaluations when they are over 3 though....but I would think that you could pay through the insurance to address these issues as well.
