We were given 16mg/ml solution of prilosec at a new pharmacy that we found to compound it for us. It through us off guard because we are used to 2mg/ml solution. What is the reason for them doing this? Is it ok? Are there any differences (ie. which one is better?) Thanks!

The 2mg/ml compounded suspension is the one we have on file here. I'll have to check if there is another one out there. I know it seems rational but sometimes putting more drug into the compound to increase the mg/ml changes the stabillity. The preparation calls for mixing for 30 minutes for the 2mg/ml in the sodium bicarb. I'll let you know. Let me know what the pharmacy tells you.
