Thank you Dr Olson, for you time,
I have a 2 year old boy with quite severe reflux. He scored a 31 on the Boix Ochea score with the pH probe, and refluxed 152 times in one 12 hour period during the day but only 12 times in the 12 hour in the pm. So most time he is awake he has reflux.
My son has had a lot of GERD complications all of these though are under control with he current med regime, (well at present anyway, I suppose this could change)it is still hard but the good outweighs the bad.
My ped has said that if Parker still has reflux and requires the meds at 3 years old, then she will suggest the fundo as she thinks that the fundo then would be a better option than a lifetime of meds.
I was just wondering if you thought this. Do you think that the fundo would be better than a life of reflux medictions? Is this something routinely done if the meds are working? I am in Australia so was trying to get a different perspective on the matter.
Thank you for your time
Rachel
