We got our endoscopy results. Max's were normal and Jack had an abnormal one in his esophagus :( I felt so good when I thought he didn't have pain. She upper his prevacid to 22.5 mg. I wonder if the solids are affecting them too. Which baby foods are bad for reflux?

I do know off the bat that certain foods, like tomatos, citrus, etc. (acidic fruits) can really drive reflux crazy. However, it really depends on the child.

I would start with single-grain cereals (rice, barley, etc.) and very gradually introduce single-ingredient fruits or veggies. Only give one at a time and when you introduce one of these, give it for a good 3-4 days straight to see if there will be any reaction/increase in reflux. Once you've found that a food is okay, go on to the next and repeat this process.

You may find that no matter what you give them, their reflux might flare up. Some kids have a tough time with purees/solids and need to have their meds, etc. adjusted to compensate.

I wish I had a better answer for you!

I am so sorry that you had that result from the endoscopy, can I ask what was abnormal in the biopsy? Did she talk about allergies or esinophillic esophegitis? I am just wondering what it was that was abnormal, if the scope was clean.

I hope the increase helps to alleviate his symptoms.
