My daughter has just been placed on Prevacid 15mg capsules. I open it up and place the capulets (1/2 of them) once a day in her applesauce. I was talking to other mothers with their children on the same thing, but they gave me a website that gives you the dosage chart for Prevacid and a couple other meds like it. According to it........she is taking a really low dosage. Do you think I should ask the specialist to up the dosage or wait? Thank you!!

She weighs 24 lbs., I am not quite sure yet because she has only been on it for about 3 days now. How long should it be to know if there is a difference? I am not sure if this is just a coincidence, but since Friday (when she started) she has been sleeping longer.....but like I said it may be a coincidence.

The dose is right on for her weight. In fact she has just reached the weight that puts her into the 15 mg range (10-30 kg). Regarding the better sleeping, could be the sedation side effect or it could be the less acid production. Either way it's a good thing to have.
