:smt078 Well, our little Braydon is doing so-so with his reflux. We have encountered a new problem with him. He is almost 10 weeks old and is on 5 ml Prilosec 2 x a day and on Carafate 4 x a day. Our problem is with the dosing. He does fine taking the medicine(s) earlly in the day; but by late afternoon and early evening, most of the time when we give him the meds on empty stomach like we are supposed to do, he immediately refluxes the medicine(s) back up (usually within 1-2 minutes). Our concern is that he is not getting the benefit of the medicine(s) and if we were to redose we would run out of his medicine before it is time for a refill. Any answers as to why he has started doing this? Braydon now weighs 16 pounds and is 10 weeks old on Tuesday.

Although these meds work better on an empty stomach, give it a try after a bit of a feed. If this doesn't work and he spits up the med consistently, discuss wth the doctor a different med or simply have a longer time interval between refills.
