We recently took our 5 month old off of Reglan due to the appearance of side effects and, to keep formula down, started to add rice cereal to the Nutramigen hypoallergenic formula.
We are concerned about dehydration - the baby was taking 30 oz. of formula - now takes 22-25 oz. of formula with rice cereal mixed in. It takes him 3-4 times longer to consume this food. Is dehydration a concern? (Reflux is about the same as it was with Reglan and no cereal).
Also, is aspiration a greater or lesser concern with thickened formula? Jamie's night breathing is worse.
Thanks very much,
Jamie's Mom
