my twins had endoscopies today. The doc said things looked good, but she also said the holes from their stomachs to their intestines looked small. She mentioned a DGE study, but then later seemed not concerned at all> She said (after seeing they both had it) that they are probably just small because the boys are small. That doesn't seem very decisive to me.

Did your child have a small opening too - and that was part of the DGE diagnosis?

Hmmm, not sure if I can answer your questions, but hopefully I can shed a little light.

Daniel was scoped when his G tube was placed in 6/05, and it didn't show anything abnormal. He had an emptying study (which is probably the DGE study you mentioned) in 8/04. He had to drink one ounce of their liquid (which was torture for us since had stopped eating by then) and then lie still while their equipment took one photo every minute for one hour of the formula moving through his system. Poor D threw up at minute 47, and the test was considered "inconclusive," but we still tried erythromycin, except it upset his stomach too much.

Anyhow, D's DGE was diagnosed mainly just through my complaining about how much he puked three hours after a meal, and we never really treated it anyway.
