The boys had their endoscopies this morning. The hardest part was definitely after - they were so full of gas. They really screamed until we could help them burp it all out. My doctor is never straightforward or proactive. She said that the hole to the intestines is pretty small, but that may be because they are small. Huh? I want to know if that's causing their lack in appetite (like their bellies aren't emptying quickly). We have to wait a week for the biopsy results. We have appts at children's hospital in a couple of weeks. I want to keep them, especially for a good second opinion - but I am also scared they will want to do their own endoscopies.

Was that all the explanation you got? :coffee: :-(

I'd get copies of the endoscopy results and take them with you to Children's when you go. That way, the docs there can take a look, give their opinions, and perhaps answer some of your questions. Any GI can look at pics/reports from an endoscopy and interpret it, so I wouldn't think they would have to repeat the procedure.

If they did biopsies, you'll get the results in about a week or two. Make sure you either get copies of these or request that they be sent to Children's, too.

I'm sorry your GI wasn't able to give you more information. :-(

It's frustrating not to walk out with a new plan of action, isn't it. Keeping your other appointment for a second opinion is a good idea, especially if you don't think you're getting the attention you need from your current doctor.

Yikes! I'd need to hear a lot of really good reasons before I'd be convinced of doing another round of endoscopies!

I agree -- get copies, and see what the other doctors have to say about it!
