Hey there! Welcome to the boards and thanks for being here! Mine is a three part question :)

My son is 17 lbs. and is on 1.9 ml of 2mg/ml compounded Prilosec 2X/day. Does this med need to be given before a meal, after a meal, with a meal, on an empty stomach, etc.? I never have had any real instruction on how to give it other than 12 hours apart, however, I'm sure there is a correct way to give it.

Connor also has Levsin drops he takes as needed for gas pains--4 drops every 4 hours as needed. My only concern with those is I have read some horrible side effects from prolonged use of anti-spasmodics (though not specific to any particular one) and I was wondering if this is safe for my son to use--he seems to be needing it less and less so perhaps I am worried for nothing, but I never know what the definition of "prolonged" is.

I also give him Mylanta Supreme 1-2 mls as needed thoughout the day which is usually only once or twice--is this more effective before or after he takes his bottle?

Thanks so much for your time--sorry for the three-parter!

although prilosec is generally given before meals, the compounded version is extra sensitive to acid that normally does not affect the original uncompounded version. So it is probably best to give this on an empty stomach.
With the levsin, growing kid's teeth is extra sensitive to tooth decay and the dry mouth caused by this drug can be a problem for your son.
Re the mylanta, I'd give it after a meal so the appetite isn't affected as much (more food per feeding). But if your son won't eat because of high acid or heart burn then you may need to give it before the meal. Note that antacids decrease levsin absorption.
