I know the more upright the better for refluxers but i can't seem to get any position other than the cradle to work as it seems so uncomfy.

Does anyone have any pics of upright nursing positions or what do u all do?

What always has, and still does, work best for us, is Ava laying on the soft comfy arm of our couch, which keeps her pretty upright.

thanks!

She won't nurse laying down anymore as the pain is too much for her and she will bring her legs up and turn her head in a cramping movement over and over. This has made feeding difficult at night. She will often do this when feeding normally as well. I'm not sure if its because she is refluxing up as she swallows down or is just the pain?

She has done this since 5 weeks of age but it has recently got worse as has the reflux which is why i think it is her way of trying to allvieant the pain.

Ok let me see if I can explain to you how I used to nurse Owen.
I layed down on my side in bed, the breast that I was nursing from was up. Next you angle your legs and you might also need a pillow for your daughter as support. Lean her against your belly and legs and let her latch on, if there is too much room inbetween use the pillow. That has always worked for Owen, hope you find a good position.

Melanie, I can envision that as well and think that is one of the ways that i have nursed Scarlett! Good job b/c for me, it was abit uncomfortable.

Never tried that Melanie, but it's a good idea.
What worked best for us (he was older though) was me leaning against the arm of the couch. My back was resting ont he arm of the sofa and Zac would sit in my lap, sideways with HIS back leaning against the back of the sofa and the breat closest to him and the back of the couch woudl be the one he nursed from.
