I was able to get an appt. with an "Early Steps" program to have him evaluated THIS month on the 24th! I'm happy about that. He is still on the waiting list at Miami Children's in their Speech Pathology dept. aswell. This is only for the evaluation, from what I gather, they don't do therapy. We'll cross that bridge when/if we get to that though.

I'm glad he's going to be evaluated soon (instead of remaining on the waitlist at MCH). I'll be anxious to hear what you find out. *crosses fingers*

I live in South Florida too....to make a long story short, Florida is finally changing the way EIP is administered in order to meet with federal guidelines. I hear Miami-Dade's program is having some difficulty switching to the new model. (Apparently, most counties are). I hope you are able to get some answers from them though. Our program (Palm Beach County) seemed to be doing okay in the beginning, until it became clear that Tucker needs more intensive "therapy". Now we are absolutely not satisfied with it and having to fight the system--which is a major pain!

This is a good website to look at regarding some of the stuff that has been going on in Flroida. http://fddc.org/HOME/index.asp
