Janette 07-06-2006, 01:40 PM I've been really reluctant to count how many words Evan now has, figuring that I'd be lucky to get to 25 or so. We've been keeping a running tally since mid-morning, and are totally surprised to report that Evan now has *at least* 130 oral words, and these are just the words and names that he will use on his own, not the ones that he'll repeat. This also does not include the few signs and gestures that he's still using. Sure, not everyone can understand his words, but each of the words are consistently used. Due to sensory stuff, he doesn't usually include the final consonant, but needless to say, we're soooo thrilled that his word count is getting so high. Now we're working on building his 2-word sentences.

I am so proud of him! The work is paying off big time with success like that. I can hardly wait to meet him again.

Janette 07-07-2006, 07:43 AM We continued adding to the list throughout the rest of the day and the evening, and we're now up to just over 150. OMGOSH!!! When I spoke with Mom last night, she guessed on the low end just like me, and was totally shocked that the word count is that high too. We're absolutely ecstatic!!!!!
