Meg is having a scope on Wed. (endo and sig) They are doing biopsies for EE/EG, celiac (been gf for 10 mos., though), and I'm not sure what else.

What should I make sure they test for? Any suggestions appreciated!!!!

Sounds like they've got it covered. One thing that is important with Eosinophilic disease, they must take several biopsies, because it can be patchy. If they really suspect it, I would question how many tissue samples from each area they are taking.

I think they automatically check for bacteria like helicobactor pylori and such so that is likely a given. I would think testing for allergies also would be a given but I am not sure as Curran goes in for this in September and EE was on the list to check for along with allergies.

Good luck with the scope and be sure to keep us updated. I doubt that celiac would show up after being 10 months GF as our GI said not to take Curran off since it only takes a few days to weeks to have a scope skewed by a GF diet. Nice to know. If I find out he is celiac and I have exposed him for an extra 4 months when I did not need to I will feel rather stellar as a Mother.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not willing to go back on gluten. I've seen how sick it makes her and we're not going there again. I'll ask about the other things too. How many biopsies are recommended for EE/EG. 6-8 are for celiac, but I'm not sure about EE/EG.
