well, we have been trying solids for a couple weeks now. Doing great, they like applesauce, pears, bananas (Nick-only when mixed with applesauce or pears???) and squash and carrots. new one this week is peas...
tonight was second night of them, they didnt like them plain very well so tonight we did carrots & peas... they liked it... alex was his typical little piggy self... shovel it faster mom, faster.... but nick... welll
about 1 hr after eating, nick started crying... and crying... and crying... did i mention he was crying...ALOT... LOL...
well, about 1 1/2 after that started (2 1/2 hrs after eating) he coughed, gagged a bit, then spit up a bit of what he had eaten. so being the good mommy, i cleaned him up, (and me), was cuddling him... then about 5 min later....yup.. he burped..and all of a sudden, about half his dinner came back out, and yes, of course, it wouldnt be a proper burp if i didnt end up wearing at least 1/3rd of it right....it was a combonation of clear drool saliva and carrot/pea mixture. so, a 2nd clean shirt for me, and NO more shirt for him... he can spit up on his naked self... lol...and he was perfectly happy...cooing, laughin, giggling, playing, etc...
well, now that i have grossed you all out with my little description, bored you, and hopefully at some point made you laugh a little, or at least crack a smile??? .... on to my whole point...
I am not sure whether its a reaction to the peas??? or is it the reflux or dge???? its the same type of spit up we get with formula when its been 1 1/2 hrs or more... clear drool with curdled formula... i was thinkin stop peas, and maybe try them again in a couple weeks...
any insight, ideas, suggestions... is this a normal gerd thing or a dge thing???.....

It sounds like a combo. of the reflux and DGE symptoms that we dealt with really badly when Evan was smaller, only he was vomiting lots and regularly. If it's DGE, it would be coming up long after he ate. Since it's the same time of vomit as with his formula, it doesn't sound like a reaction to the peas. He was probably just too full, I would think.
