Hmmm...Cady does well developmentally in all areas, but speech. She quietly plays all day, doesn't ask for anything and gestures more than talks. Like, if she wants a bottle, she'll go the the drawer, point to it and go "huh?". She does point to things and say "wazzat?" I'm a little confused with this all. Kaylin was a talking pro at this age and did everything above. Does that mean Cady is behind and I should get some help for her?

You can't compare kids, Judy. Trey ran off at the mouth from very early on as well (and hasn't quit!)

Cady is communicating her need to you, and she has another month in which a lot of these skills could materialize. I wouldn't worry just yet. Catherine only does 4 of the language items, and they all related to receptive language, not expressive.

Oh my... my boys don't "ask" verbally for anything!! And as for showing wet underpants... that definitely hasn't happened yet! We do most of those things but there are things they don't do... as for "sings independently".. that's an interesting one!!!

Thanks, Lesley. That makes me feel a lot better. I guess pointing and saying "ugh?" is communicating. She's telling me what she wants, even if she isn't using words. You're right, she may just up and start talking one day. I'm going to just not worry about it right now.

Thanks for the info
Ava seems to be doing pretty well in all areas.....it seems a little advanced to me (she is only 14mnths though....so another 2-3mnths can make a big difference)
