Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried the "soothie" bottles. My daughter loves her pacifier so I was wondering if the bottles might be good for her. As many suggestion on this website, I'm trying to switch her bottle, first, before talking to the ped about upper her meds. I've tried VentAire, Avent and the Playtex Nursers and so far none of them seemed to make any difference with her reflux. Today we are trying Dr. Browns for the day. But if that doesn't work, I'm not sure what is next, I feel like we have tried everything!! I just saw the Soothies when I was at Target getting the DB bottles yesterday so I thought I'd check if anyone else had used them.

Thanks,

I don't think they had those when Noah was an infant, but I've seen them. If your daughter likes the pacifier, she might love the bottles! We use Dr. Brown's, and Noah does much better with them compared to others, but all kids seem to be so different! Let us know how the Dr. Brown's go today, and if you decide to try the Soothies!

Well, we tried the Dr. Browns for her first feeding and it seemed to go good, but I don't want to get my hopes up just yet. She actually ate ALL her bottle in about 20 minutes! It usually takes her an hour lately cause she would get upset from refluxing and then I would have to let her calm with her paci, etc. A vicious cycle. I bought the bottle in a one pack and then also a 3 pack, so I have to wash this bottle after every feeding today until I know it works for sure I won't open the three pack. I have every bottle you could think of at my house! My next child will have a bottle choice - ha ha!!

Keeping our fingers crossed for a good day.........

I think you'll have good luck with the DB's. We discontinued use of them only because of all the parts that came with them. We ended up using Playtex Ventaire after all others. We loved them!! And will be using them with the next baby.

We used the VentAire from the beginning....then came the reflux. We switched bottles to the Avent then (before we knew it was reflux). I may give them one more try before I fully switch to DB.

If she latched on that well for the first bottle, I think its safe to get your hopes up. Noah was not able to keep a suck going with other bottles. I really think the vent allows the flow to controlled by the child, and Noah is very sensitive to flow. I hope today continues to go well! Check in and let us know!

I have never need the soothie bottles but the DB one worked wonders for Izzy...I now have 10 of them so I am not constantly washing...I think the best part about the DB's is the baby dosent have to stop to let air back in the bottle. When Izzy was at her worst if she stopped she wouldnt start back up so the DB's helped a ton!

Thats what Taras problem was too. When we made the switch to DB it was a miracle. She actually liked eating and still does. Hope she continues to like the DB bottles!
