My son has refulx and Cow's Milk allergy. the ped put him on Soy (Enfamil) and he is ok with it but has a lot of gas. I changed it to Nutramigen and he poop less and has less gas; however, he hadly drink the whole bottle. He has been on Nutramigen since Tuesday night. My question is which formula is better for his reflux? Should I used Soy (Good Start) or stick with Nutramigen?
Thank you,
Anissa

Ok...so he seems happier on nutra but just isn't eating as much...right?
If that's the case then I would keep him on nutra for 2 weeks (he might improve even more as the soy gets out of his system)
The Gi told us that kids will get used to the nasty taste of hypo formula...i thought he was a jerk as I was in tears over Zach not taking the bottle of alimentum I was offering...but he was right...
Did the gas from the soy seem to make him uncomy or was he just tooting a lot...if he was just gassy (but not in pain or refluxing more) than if he doesn't take the nutra well....I would go back to soy (Plus it's cheaper)

Thanks Kim.
When he was on Soy, he just not act like himself. I am not sure if it is because of reflux or the milk. If by the end on next week, he still not eating the nutramigen, I will switch back to soy. Another thing when he was on soy, when he tried to poop, he will grunt for ages (almost 1 hour) before he will poop. I just feel bad for him, so I switch.
Thanks again,
Anissa

If he has problems with Dairy, he may also not be able to tolerate Soy. My son Connor has MSPI (milk soy protien intolerance) and can't have anything with soy or dairy in it. He can't even tolerate Netramagen and has to be on Neocate (an amino acid formula) I would stick with the Netramagen for the full 2 weeks and see if he starts taking more.

I was going to say the same as Kim. Both my sons are cows milk intolerent (at least- we are still deciding if it is an allergy on the last one) and we always used HA as top ups and never had a problem.
