A few weeks ago, I took it upon myself to cut back on the amount of rice cereal in Joshuas bottles. He is eating so much more in terms of solids now and I haven't seen hardly any reflux symptoms.

Plus, I figured that *if* he is able to go on whole milk in a few months, we won't be able to thicken that...at least, I don't think so.

So, he was on 1tsp per oz...so in a 6oz bottle, there would be 6tsp...I cut that in half...3tsp total now. Doesn't seem to be a problem at all! :)

That is great Miori! I wish I could do that with Connor but I don't think he's ready yet. I wonder if thickening still works with sippy cups?

:dontknow: Don't know about sippy's...my guess is no. Maybe with the soft spout Nube's b/c they have pretty big openings. I'm okay with him on bottles for a while, but want to do sippy's with solids.

Bryna cannot tolerate formula that is not thickened...I've had to thicken every different formula we have tried since she was about 1 1/2 months old (even breastmilk)...But, she drinks water from a sippy cup like a champ. She could not tolerate drinking it from a bottle though...it would come up while she was still trying to get it down. But for some reason a sippy cup has worked great for her since she was 5 months.

Yep, he drinks 4-6oz of 1/2 juice, 1/2 water combo in his sippy throughout the day. I do that during meal times. Sometimes he is way in to it, other times not so much. :)

Miori... thats awesome... a month ago when I went in surgery my hubby didnt thicken K's formula... now... we left it that way and she has been drinking regular formula now and not big issues. We have had a few days with some puking but NOTHING like it was. Kinda inbetween a spit up and puke. I think it's air in there thats making her puke mostly... Who knows... she's doing well on it though!
