Parker only has one bottle a day (it is all he takes) and we supplement it so it is full of goodness. I wouldn't want him to stop taking it cause of this.
Well when we are away I am not sure if I am going to be able to find fresh goat milk (carton is really foul and I know he won't drink it) so do you think if we use rice milk he will transition well- has anyone had this experience?
He is pretty fickle if I push the issue too much he will just not drink milk again and we can't affiord this.
Any ideas? We get into San Francisco first do you think I could get fresh goat milk there? or would rice milk do

I would think you can get goat's milk at an upscale grocery store or even Whole Foods (which they do have in San Francisco). I know it's quite easy to find here in Southern California...you can look at the Whole Foods website to look up all the stores locations...they are in most states I think.

Cheryl, Whole foods in SF will be my first stop (for his foods), I have already searched it- is fresh goat milk easy to get (not in the long life)? if so then this is great news, it can be really hard to get here if you aren't in the know.

Scarlet - what does "not in the long life" mean? I don't give the kids goat's milk...but I have seen it in the refrigerated section (assume that is fresh) and also canned and powdered on the shelf (which I assume tastes yucky and is NOT what you want).
You may want to email the San Francisco store to make sure it is the correct thing though. Although I doubt it is that hard to find in most places in California - however I'm not sure about the other state's you are going to.

Long life milk here is the stuff you get on the shelf, so you are talking of the right one, thanks so much, I will e-mail whole foods and see if they have it.
Just like Cheryl, I know you can get it at Whole Foods in the carton, but I've never seen it fresh.
My dh has lots of relatives in SF--if you'd like, I'd be happy to have them do some research for you. :-)

Thanks Mary if it wouldn't be too much, that would be great.
Tell me specifically what you're looking for...do you have a particular brand? Is the goat's milk you by direct from a farm, or do you buy it in the store?

We get it from the store, it is a local dairy, just plain old fresh goats milk. It can be frozen also, we just defrost it.
I just e-mailed the whole foods in SF and so hopefully they may have it in store.
If this is a no go, I was going to ask the Dr if I can put him back on formula (goat milk) and try it, I am also seeing an allergist in a couple of weeks so I will ask her opinion also. I just don't want to play around with it too much cause he more than likely will start refusing it.
You know I am planning a huge trip and the only things I am worried about is where am I going to get goat milk and where will I get his prilosec compounded LOL
