Wow. She looks famished. It's so exciting when we can get our non-eaters to eat. Has she been officially diagnosed with sensory integration dysfunction?

We deal with the sensory stuff too. We also have a number of moms who are dealing with autism on the site. Shannon, zapsmom, comes to mind right away. You'll have to watch for her.

Hi Melissa. I say hi a couple of threads ago. It is great that your little one is eating! I know my DS, Hobbes who is also high functioning ASD and SID is a very picky eater as well. Hope to get to know you better soon and learn more about both your girls:smt047:

Way to go, Freja! A whole Gerber meal -- that's fabulous -- definitely worth a celebration!

Not at all, Melissa...Hobbes was just turning three when he was dx. We have just hit the first year of dx.They would not say any more about Hobbes'ASD either. We just this week got told that we could say that it is high functioning b/c they didn't want to label it b/c they didn't want to not have the right therapy for him. When was Freja dx? Did you have to wait long for the therapy that she needs?

Wow! We have ST, OT and CD and an Autism councellor. We had the Child developement come in as urgent b/c of Hobbes 'head banging and meltdowns that were getting severe. That is now I was able to get him dx b/c I know something was not right and had read about autism so I asked about it. The CD Worker had told me that she told the same and video taped him and had a child developement specialist watch the tape and then they tested him. We just got the OT and ST in the last 6 months after waiting over ayear for them. We had a program here called"LET's get started" But you only get 3 sessions with the therapy and then you wait!
