Probably isn't DGE but it could be. He may be fighting because he is getting smarter and realizing that food makes him hurt. Kids with DGE both gain and don't gain. Our son was huge and chunky and had serious emptying problems. Sudden DGE symptoms coming could also indicate onset of illness, teething, or something just may have not agreed with him. I have heard of kids having DGE symptoms after testing and it come up fine though, so who knows!

I am not sure what 8 w is, but I will assume he is 8 months old? I also dont understand what you are trying to ask when you ask if they normally gain weight or are smaller. Yes babies are supposed to gain at a steady rate. I think if it was DGE it would have shown up sooner. It sounds like maybe he is learning to associate feeding with pain. Do you think his dose of zantac is sufficient? Does he ever act uncomfortable or in pain during or after eating?

I just realized maybe you meant 8 weeks old....if he is 8 weeks, yes it could be DGE. If he does not appear to be in pain but appears full, then yes it could be. If he acts hungry then starts fussing when it is time to eat and stops eating, he is probably not on a high enough dose of zantac.

hi carla
i think it was just a flook of a day!! he was in lots of pain and i think thats why he wasnt refusing to eat!! i freaked because he had never done that before! what i have been doing for the past couple of days is to feed him less amounts more frequently and giving mylanta every 6hrs ! it seems to help but who knows!! it seems like he eats the most in the morning and then it tapers off during the day! he only takes 2oz his last bottle and then sleeps through the night!(YEAH!!!!) he is almost starting to learn how much he can handle!! i also increased the cereal! BIG HELP AS WEll!! i am still learning this trial and error thing!!! thanks again ! yes he is 8weeks
