Hi all, I am new here. My daughter will be 5 months next week. She was born 2 months early and spent a month in the NICU. she was 3lbs 7oz at birth.

She is now 9lbs 15 oz, and has horrible reflux. She was diagnosed with GERD at 6 weeks and it just continues to get worse.

she is on Neocate now, due to a diagnosis of MSPI. She can have only rice cereal and neocate. She vomits it all up anyway. She pukes 5-6 times after every meal and then continually throughout the day. Even when she eats the thick cereal, she still vomits it up.

We are doing the gastric emptying scan tomorrow. Then after that we will be doing a stomach scope and biopsy.

I am just very nervous about all the dx's they are giving her. She is just so tiny and having to go through all these things.

Any advice for the scan? She has done the barium study before.

The scan was really easy for us. I hope it is for you too! Bring something to do, it is long. I am glad they are doing the right tests to get you some answers. I hope she will be okay soon!

(oh, and my boys were 6 weeks early.. they are so tiny when they start out... but they do grow quickly!!). They were 4lb6oz and 4lb9oz at brith.
Good luck!

Is she on any meds for it??

she is on Neocate now, due to a diagnosis of MSPI. She can have only rice cereal and neocate.
Maybe it's just me but I never quite figure out why peds give Neocate and then rice cereal. You would think if they allergic enough that they need Neocate, then rice cereal would not be a good idea. Maybe ask the ped about using Simply Thick. It is more hypo-allergenic. (As is Thick It but Thick It can cause majoe diareha)
