Hello all~
I am at home for now and will be going back to the hospital tomorrow but wanted to give a quick update. Tyler's surgery went as well as it could have, no major complications! It took just over 2 hours. There was a bit more involved than they were thinking. It took 2 surgeons and a resident to do the surgery and our Dr said it really did take all 3 of them! After they got him open they found that his spleen and liver were fused together they were able to get them apart. After that his stomach, small intestines and diaphram needed to be separated (scare tissue from the first surgery he had). Than they were able to do a full fundo, but it left his stomach very small and even though the stomach will grow he'll never have a normal stomach. They fixed his hernia and moved his belly button a bit (that is where his hernia was). They placed the g-tube and sniped his tong (he was tong tied too). His vital sings have been stable and his blood counts have been ok, all of this is good this means there is no internal bleeding and no need for a blood transfusion. He has been on morphine and is now able to go 5 hours between needing some, he has also started to roll and even laid on his tummy for a bit today. They hope to start him on feds again tomorrow, I hope that all goes well because that will mean we are one step closer to going home! They said that most likely he'll have to stay in the hospital for 1 week. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for our family and for Tyler. I will post again when he is able to come home unless something happens!
Hugs~
