Cypress ( 7 mos old) had been doing so well while just on BM, but now that we had started solids, the reflux came back, and it is horrible!!! He has been vomiting at every feeding and two nights ago, he woke up SCREAMING in pain, and nothing helped. DH took him to the dr this morning, and sure enough, it is reflux again. He increased his Zantac, and also took him off all solids except rice cereal. So now, he is just taking BM again. I am hoping that this will help, but now I am scared to go back to solids! His ped wants to wait quite awhile before going back to fruits (at least nine mos) and a month or so before going back to veggies. I feel so bad for my poor baby. He was doing so well too! It is so disheartening to be back in this spot again. I hate reflux!

I'm so sorry to hear this is going on!
Have you tried a PPI like Prevacid or Prilosec? Prevacid has been our wonder drug!

Oh poor baby! Has he been tested for Delayed gastric emptying (AKA DGE)? Our son got much worse with solids and it was because he didn't empty fast enough and it caused the reflux and vomiting to get much worse.

It sounds like you dr has some pretty good advice. I would see if the zantac increase works, otherwise try a PPI. With food when introducing them next. Try one food at a time for a few days at a time and work out early which food is making him reflux worse.
Everyone else said everything I was going to. :-)
I'm so sorry Cypress is suffering like this. :-( I do hope the next round of baby food trials goes much better!

Hi,
Sorry that his reflux has returned! :( My son was BF when we started solids aswell. I DID notice a significant increase in his spitting/puking. However, he was on Prevacid and that seemed to make the refluxing not bother him. Maybe Cypress would do better on a PPI? :dontknow: I hope he does better next time around w/the solids. :( The milk you are giving him is the best thing for his little tummy...keep up the great work!
