Has anyone ever heard of chiropractic therapy for reflux? A friend of mine suggested I call her Pediatric Chiropractor. She thought that maybe this type of treatment would work for my son's reflux. Apparently, this chiropractor has helped children with colic. I'm thinking of calling since the Prevacid is not working. My son's 5 months old. He has Severe GERD, but finally gaining weight, so I doubt surgery would be an option...not really wanting to do this anyway. Any thoughts?

Some have had luck and some haven't. Hopefully it helps your son.

Hello,
We used prilosec and it worked wonders for our son, because of insurance we tried switching to prevacid and it made him much worse. I would recommend trying something else.
I don't know about the whole chiropractic thing. Not sure on it so I can't help you there. It doesn't make sense to me but I wouldn't know.
I just know that it can take many different attempts at different meds or a combination to get the reflux under control.

I am a belever of do what you have to, but in saying that I don't think I have heard anyone saying that it helped reflux. I have heard colic, ear infections etc but not reflux.
I have a really good physio and I asked him about it and he said no way would it help- but he is a physio and not a chiro so he is going to say that. He said that it is not medical based and thats why they don't beleive it will work here- his opinion not mine. I have just gone to a natural doctor (kineseologist) for my son for some answers and my GI said the same thing, not science based, but I feel I have to do something if you KWIM?
If you try it I hope you have success, so far ours has only come by being on a good dose of meds.

We have gone to one and continue to go.
At first I was very skeptical. Very, he adjusted him and I didn't see any improvement. But my dh talked me into going back and now I see improvement, I can also tell when he needs to go back, his reflux starts flaring again.
Jackson is still on Prevacid, I'm too chicken to try it w/no meds. yet.
But, it has helped a little.
