For those babies who are allergic to milk/soy, you should not use this probiotic. It contains both milk and soy. The bottle does not indicate that, but their website does.http://www.jarrow.com/images/spacer_clear.gif However, I'm sure this is a great product for babies w/out allergies to milk/soy.

Usage: Up to age 4, mix 1/4 tsp. daily in water, juice, infant formula or food, or as directed by your qualified health consultant.http://www.jarrow.com/images/spacer_clear.gif

Baby’s Jarro-Dophilus™ contains superior, scientifically documented strains. Clinical studies have documented the benefits of B. breve M-16V and B. longum BB536 (morinaga) in infants and young children. All probiotic strains in Baby’s Jarro-Dophilus™ produce L+ lactic acid which is especially ideal for babies. The dominant intestinal flora of infants are the bifidobacteria which is why Baby’s Jarro-Dophilus™ contains a higher percentage of bifidobacteria than lactobacilli. Baby’s Jarro-Dophilus™ also contains Inulin-FOS (FructoOligoSaccharides) to encourage growth of beneficial flora.*

No yeast, wheat or gluten.http://www.jarrow.com/images/spacer_clear.gif

Keep out of the reach of children.http://www.jarrow.com/images/spacer_clear.gif

Thanks for the info Judy. I'm going to the states in less than 2 weeks and will buy some probiotics for Owen.

OMGoodness, Judy! My GI told us specifically to use that brand b/c it was milk/soy free. I'm furious. I'm calling them on Monday - first thing - to let them know.

Ack! Emma used it for a month but now we're using Solaray. I'm going to check that website out to make sure that one doesn't have soy/milk in it.

I am sooooo sorry! I feel awful for recommending that to you.

:(

No big deal, Amanda. I was actually checking it out for the other thread about there being rice in probiotics, instead I found this one had milk and soy. What a crock! They stick it in all tiny on the website, but don't stick it on the bottle. Anyway, Amanda, don't worry about it. You were only giving me the same advice that you'd been given by the GI.

Thanks, Judy. I still feel bad.

I am going to call my GI b/c he obviously didn't know either. Which kind are you giving to Cady, now?

I have no idea. The stuff the GI wants to give her is like $60 bucks for a month's worth. What are you using? Did you check it out to make sure there's no dairy in it?

I've been using Solaray...BabyLife Bafidobacteria (the other one he recommended....should I trust it? ). Emma has been sleeping through the night **knocking on wood** for almost three weeks straight with only one nightwaking...about once a week, so I'm guessing it's truly milk/soy free as it's not bothering her! Here is the site. I didn't see anything on here, nor on the bottle. I'm going to call the company to make sure, though. It's just not worth it.

This is what I give Noah:

http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/products/probiotics/acidophilus/Lacto_Acid316_120.html

His GI recommended the LACTOBACILLUS acidophilus, and he initially prescribed on that the he didn't know contained milk and soy, but I found this one through a health food store, but I had to order it. Every one I was finding that was milk and soy free had an additional ten ingredients in it! This one seems very pure.

I might try what Maggie is using first. If I don't like it, then I'll try what Amanda is using. Options...I love having options! Thanks, girls!

Judy, I was also told by the allergist to buy nothing that wasn't refrigerated. He said that they are not good quality. You might already know this, but I just wanted share with the group!
