I know nothing about it but wanted to say good luck, and I sure hope it is not cancer related:)

Sorry, Kim, I'm not familiar with this either. I hope the appointment tomorrow gives you lots of answers.

I found this
CGH is a molecular cytogenetic method of screening a tumor for genetic changes. The alterations are classified as DNA gains and losses and reveal a characteristic pattern that includes mutations at chromosomal and subchromosomal levels.
Does he have a tumor?
If not these are the links you want
http://www.cghtmd.jp/CGHDatabase/about/array_based_cgh.htm
"facilitating identification of genes responsible for cancer as well as unknown genetic diseases including learning disability"
http://jmg.bmjjournals.com/cgi/content/abstract/41/4/241
This one is a real good one
http://www.charite.de/ch/medgen/eumedis/medgen05/molecular-karyotyping.html
And this one
http://www.ichg2006.com/abstract/754.htm
Have her do this search
"CGH array and learning disorders"
Or
CGH array and learning disability
I think once she is more detailed in her search she'll have better luck

Hi
Thanks all!
THANK YOU Minnie!!!!!
I also did some digging and I think the CGH blood test her son had has to do with testing for chromosomal abnormalities and mental retardation
I'm sure she must be devastated
I'll pass on the links
Thanks again!!!!

Your welcome Kim
and I hope the test goes well.
You know at first I panicked too because it was all about cancer and it didn't look good at all, but after digging like you said UGH, I felt so much better! Not that mental retardation or learning disorder aren't serious problems
but
gosh!
I'm so relieved that this wasn't to test for something terminal.

Just an update
here is the e-mail I received last night
Hi. He has a duplication in his 15th chromosome. They took our blood. I am confused and not sure what it means exactly. This correlates to autism and delays. But I need more info
I really don't know what to say...I feel awful
She is my age,33,and lost her mom just 2mnths ago
