Since I have had Jackson I get these terrible hot flashes or more like I am hot all the time!! I can't get cool enough and dh went to bed and what do I do shut all the windows and turn on the air even though it's in the 60's probably (although I think it has to be humid).
Before I had Jackson I was sooo cold blooded I mean always cold!! I am not a very big person so I just can't figure this out. My SIL told me tonight maybe it was the hormones from breastfeeding?? What do you think. Good grief I am only 21 so it can't be what hot flashes usually mean :razzing: .

During the 6weeks that I was pumping full time, I was that way a lot - and of course when I was pregnant too! So, yeah, I'd say it's hormones! :)

Defianatley true, but it does reverse. My dh used to be the hot one and then it was me, I would sleep withour rugs andI wouldn't even touch him in bed cause it would heat me up. Its a lot better since I have stopped.

I would guess hormones too... when I was on the IVF drugs I suffered dreadful hot flushes.. and that was the hormone meds. It probably wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor to just double-check though.
Same here--I was a cold blooded person until I got pregnant. :-)
The hot flashes were pretty significant during the first several months after B was born (I, too, b'feed); however, they started to diminish as time went on. I'm no expert, but I'd be willing to bet that your theory about nursing and hormones is right on the money!

I was the same way too, when I was pregnant and when Owen was nursing more I was hot all the time as well. Now that he only nurses 2-3 times a day it has diminished and I'm pretty much back to my normal self.

I think your right Meagan.
After I had Andrew, and I BF him....I was a huge sweatball for a long time! Exactly how you described, and it will go away! It did for me:)

Just though I would chime in too...I was the same exact way. I was soo cold blooded before I got pregnant with Tara and then BAM the hotness started in. Now I am hot all the time, more at night than anything. I thought it was something that I was doing. I don't know if it is hormones or not though, I never bf. But at least it has gone away for the most of you, and hopefully it will for me too. I can't remember if this happened after Trey was born, otherwise I wouldn't think of it as a big deal!!
