Well I was right Parker wasn't so good with this test.

It started out great, it takes about 40min to put all the probes on and he sat perfectly still and watched hi-5, Daniel and I were amazed, last time he screamed so much- that they remembered him!

When it came time to put him to bed he screamed, Dan settled him, it took about an hour and a half and then Parker went to sleep, by now it was 9pm.

Dan then left, Parker slept till nearly Midnight and then woke it took an hour to get him to settle (and here is the part that peeves me!) after about 40min one of the ladies went in there, I don't know why, but you could tell by the moniter that he was in real light sleep, well he woke and the was up for 4 hours!!! I stayed 3 with him and he for most part just was laying there quiet but not asleep. The last hour the lady that woke him said she would swap with me (I think she could see I was getting frustrated!) She sat with him and he finally went to sleep at 4am.

He was sleeping really good and they woke him at 6am, I wish they would have just let it go a bit longer!

Well all in all it was terrible, he got 5-6 hours total, so I hope they got enough info. Is it normal for him to be such a light sleeper, he is so tierd but would not go back to sleep. All the other kids there slept through the wires and there was a 2 year old and she woke once for 5 min and went to sleep.

If I put him to bed and just leave him he is fine, but once he wakes it takes about 2 hours to get him back to bed- well something to raise with the ped when the results are in in 3 weeks.

Thanks all for listening to this!!

Getting set up!

Oh Rachel, bless his heart. Those pics were pitiful.
Gosh, I'm sorry that it didn't go well. Poor Parker.
Ugh... Jackson would probably be the same way. Maybe it's not that he is a "light" sleeper, but that he is just a creature of habit and so used to sleeping "his way" you know?!
{{{{hugs}}} I hope that they got enough info as well.

The great thing was he wasn't fussed with it, he was happy and cheeky, I actually enjoyed it cause I got to cuddle and kiss him and he just sat and lay there- her never does that anymore!

I think Emily that you are probably right, He is used to moving to get comfortable, he has had to do it forever! Cords do not help this.

He looks so uncomfortable. Other that picking up apnea, what does a sleep study look for? I mean, how accurate can a test for sleep patterns be when you are not in you natural environment and when you are hooked up to all those wires? I don't think I could even fall asleep. Poor guy. I hope you get some answers.

Aww Rachel...Bless that little guy!
Sorry to hear that things didn't go as planned, but I can imagine trying to get comfy with his hands tied up, and all the cords wasn't very cozy for a small fry:)

I hope you get some answers from the portions he did sleep!

Awwwww, poor Parker..... it is soooo not normal to sleep like that. As for the bandages on his hands...awwwwww :-(
Hoping that he did sleep enough for them to get the info they needed.....

I'd have a hard time sleeping with all that junk on me too! And, with other kiddos in the room too - it's no wonder he had a tough night! Poor little man!

Poor little sweety, he was so brave though. Was he frightened at all? I hope he doesn't have to do that again, everything is crossed for you!

Poor guy :(...whats that stuff on his hands and head? I guess so he cant mess w/the wires?

The hands bandaged was to stop pulling the wires, we tried without them and he pulled the nose sensor straight away. The one on his head is going over the sensors so they are held a little in place.

Debbie he wasn't frightened at all, he was actually very calm with it all. He did remember the place from the first study 9 months ago and cried when he saw the lady, but other than that he was great, when he woke, he didn't scream he just laid there trying to sleep but wouldn't.

Melissa, the sleep study for us is picking up apnea, it can tell a lot of other things though, a lot about what is going on in the brain and also brain disorders. As long as they get in all of the different sleep cycles they can see what is happening usually.
