Is there anyone else out there whose gerdling cannot tolerate fruit? I have tried them all and they all make him pukey and irritable. I don't get it, he does fine with veggies and likes the taste of the fruit but later the fruit wreaks havock. I don't know what to give him for breakfast since he won't eat cereal off a spoon either.

Have you tried avacado? It's a fruit!

Oh, and Connor doesn't really know you're not supposed to have veggies for breakfast! Maybe something a bit sweeter like sweet potatoes, or peas?

Fruit bothered Emma for the longest time. She's only been able to tolerate it in the last few months.

That's what I was going to say -- but probably not quite so cleverly!

The only probably we ever had with fruit was pears, and that's because it had a slightly gritty texture Daniel couldn't handle.

Catherine has veggies for breakfast all the time. Connor won't care if his meals are "out of order!" LOL

Amanda put it the right way, that's what our pediatrician told us too. When Owen had problems with his constipation she told me to just give him veggies high in fiber even for breakfast, they don't know the difference.
We have the opposite problem, Owen mostly only tolerates fruits and has problems with most veggies.

Try spaghettios! jk...I gave dd a taste this morning and she LOVED it...just a few licks..Yeah I know..I still eat them, kind of embarrassing. :smt053

Kim - You've got to just give him what works for now...he'll come around soon enough...So, yeah, you know...I bought all the earths best fruits and veggies and so far...and here's our list of do's and dont's.

DO's: Sweet Potato's, Apple Sauce, Bananas
DONT's: Green Beans, Carrots, Pears

Kind of limited but I'm just comforted in the fact that feeding solids to babies before 1 year is kind of a new thing. It's really for pleasure for the babies...They get ALL they need in formula up to 1 year or just before...or so I've read...Everyone has their own opinion on that but like I said...I'm fully ok with 3 foods that make her happy and I'm not experimenting with her anymore. We need to accept the fact that our babies aren't "normal" whatever that means and they can't handle all foods. Babies without gerd have intollerances....it's cool. You have a Veggietail Baby... :) More nutritious than fruit!

Well, sounds like everyone summed it up for you! LOL
Just give him what works for now
I've probably asked you this, but do Bananas bother him?

I give Jackson rice cereal made w/water and ***hate to admit it*** but I sweeten it w/a little sugar. Maybe try that, if you don't mind if he has sugar! Jackson gobbles it up, of course!

I've tried bananas several times and he gags like crazy! I don't know if it's the taste he doesn't like or the consistancy. I think peaches may be ok! The past two days he's eaten them and not been too bad!!! We go to the GI tomorrow so I will talk to him about it:D About the sugar thing Hey if it works, go with it:D

The bananas seem to be kind of thick, it could be the consistency! Peaches, that is great! I hope it continues!:smt047
