Hi guys I have a weird question....
So Emily turned one last week and they tried to switch her over to peptamen jr. oh my goodnes did it not go over well:coffee: . Well to make a long story short she started to get stinky.:tongue9: She smelled like poop. It came out of her pores and her mouth it was awful. Our dietician thought I was crazy till she came over and smelled her for her self and then she believed me. Our at home nurse thought she had a foul diaper went to go change it and it was her mouth. I dont know what to think of this. Has anyone had this happen. I have our gi in seattle next week but I figured if anyone had this least I could have an idea. Sorry this is so short I have to take my oldest to go get a birthday toy for some kid. Not in the mood if you know what I mean hope everyone is good :hello2: Beth

Oh yeah not only did they try normal peptamen but also pet. prebio and also pet. DTX. hope that helps...... Beth

That is so weird. I was just going to write a post about my stinky baby! Tucker is on a continuous drip of Neocate. Since yesterday, we thought he just had gas because he kept smelling like poop. Long story short, we discovered it was MOLD growing in the g-tube!!!!! (he has a PEG). I have no idea how mold could grow since he's on a continuous drip....I'm waiting for the GI to call me back. SOOOOO disgusting! Thank goodness he's on antiobiotics due to an ear infection, or who knows what kind of issues that would cause.......

So, my only advice is to smell around the g-tube and see if that is it.

I checked around her site and its ok. It is coming out of her mouth and pores. Its so weird. We are leaving for the GI tomorrow. We have a 300 mile drive and 3 kids to drag with us. So stressful! I am not looking foward to the trip but to be seen by our GI and he so far is wonderful...so far. So I hope things go ok. They are going to work her all the way up again I hope. That is so weird. I vaguely remember one of the nurses in the PICU telling me that we didn't want to ever have to try Nutramagin w/ Tucker because it can make them stink....so my guess is it's a side-effect of a stinky formula. But then again, who knows. I hope that the GI has some answers for you and that the drive isn't too bad with all of your brood! Let us know what happens.

Max was on Peptamin Jr for about a year and a half before we recently switched to neocate jr. On the peptamin, his poops and farts sure were stinky but I never noticed it on his breath or from his pores. Max is tube fed so I don't know if that would make a difference. We gave him the vanilla flavoured peptamin.

Anyway, hope you figure it out!!
