Connor is currently taking Pulmicort via nebulizer. I have been having a horrible time getting him to take it, he screams the whole time until he gags and thrashes around. I don't even think he gets any of the med in him. We tried Flovent using the aerochamber a few weeks ago but for some reason it makes him very fussy (this was our 2nd try) Do any of your kids take a different med for there Asthma that's easier to use?

Abby takes Q-var. It is the same steroid as Pulmicort and it is in an inhaler. I am not sure if it is safe for one's as young as Conner, but you could ask the ped.

We use the flovent via a spacer. But there are other meds you can use with the spacer. We have a combined preventer and reliever, cant remember the name, but it works ood for my sis's kids. Can you get pulmicourt to use with a spacer- Its a lot easier to hold them down for this instead of the neb.

I don't think they make it for a neb. I wish they did because he does so well on it. He just fights and fights now. I'll have to call the Pulminologist and see what other options we have.

We use the flovent with the spacer here and ventolin as well. Last summer we used some singulaire but I do not think Connor is old enough for that. Our exposure to singulaire was limited but I may ask to try it again for the summer for Iain.

Sorry that I can't be of any help..... I would think the neb or space chamber would be the best way of administering the meds. DOes he not like the mask over his face for the neb.. is that why he is fighting it do you think???
