Well it's been 2 weeks since Connor has had any solids and I knew I couldn't put it off forever so I gave him a few bites of squash today. He was pretty whiney today, but I don't know if he was just whiney or if it was from the squash. I don't just want to assume that every little cry is from food but it's just so hard to know. His Reflux is really bad right now too! He's been throwing himself around and making horrible faces like it tastes bad. So frustrating! We'll try again tomorrow. Would a few bites of squash be enough to upset his tummy?

I think a few bites is enough, I have reflux and I can tell instanly if a food is going to be upsetting, as crazy as it sounds all I have to do is think about a food that causes my upset and it kicks in. You nver know what it is with adults either I reflux from water a lot. Maybe try a friut instead bananas or pears mixed with cereal?

Poor little guy, I hope it was just a whiney day and not the squash.

Kim, can he handle chunkier foods?
Gerber makes these new "Garden mashers" and I bought them, I smashed it up really well and watered it down a bit
The kind I bought is Sweet Potatoe and glaze carrots **Jackson loves sweet potatoes** they also make a cheddar potatoes one. I don't know, what maybe something that isn't so runny would help his reflux.
**sigh** grasping at straws here. The squash I would say may have hurt him in just a few bites.

Emily, I believe that Connor is MSPI and all of the Garden Mashers, including carrots & sweet potatoes have milk in them. I have six containers in my cupboard going to waste.

Kim, I believe that if a child is going to react to a food, then they could react immediately from even a small amount of food.

I just want to mention too not to worry about the faces!! I freaked out everytime K made an ugly face in the beginning... you have to ignore it. All kids make those faces especially with new flavors and it could take up to 20 introductions to the food to get used to it or like it or whatever the case may be.

Just smile and keep having fun while giving him bites! :) Now if he's reacting to food, then I would first find something he is NOT reacting to lol but as for the faces, dont make them with him!! hahahahaha :)

Good luck, I hope things work out!!

YOU ARE RIGHT JUDY! I guess that answers my question about Jackson's milk problems, he had no problem w/them!
