Well, yesterday he cried everytime I fed him and he had just one TBSP of beechnut rice cereal. That ends that for me. I could try oatmeal but I've had enough of unhappy babytime. :(
I will just stick to the Thick It and the messy diapers, lol.
When babies are intolerent of foods, how long does it last? I'm hesitant to even give him any cereal now once he hits 4 months.

I don't know how long it takes for them to outgrow it, we still are waiting for Owen to outgrow it and he is 11 months old.
Mason is still young though and his body might just not be ready for the cereal. I hope that he will tolerate it better when he is a little older.

Do you think that is possible? Is that why they normally do not start cereal until 4 months old?
I also considered that he has beenon Neocate for a month and a half and Thick It for 3 weeks. It's not like his tummy is used to digesting a lot since it's already pre-digested. But God, he reacted SO bad I am afraid to go tehre ever again, lol.
We were going to put him back on cow's milk formula in 3 weeks as we wondered if he ever was really allergic, but now I am thinking NO WAY.
When babies generally hit 4-6 months and start cereals by spoon, is it normal for them to have pain after until they get used to it? I'm just not sure how to handle it when he does hit 4 months.

I started with Rice cereal when Owen was 5 months old and it didn't go well at all. I switched to Oatmeal and he did fine with it. We don't have a lot of solids that I can offer him since he reacts to anything under the moon. I'm taking him off all solids again to see what causes his latest reflux flare and the diaper rash that he has again.
Babies should handle solids and cereal better when they get older since their digestive system matures over time and it's not so hard on them anymore.
If you try the milk based formula again I would start slowly and mix it half Neocate and half milk based so his body can get used to it first.
I hope he does fine with the regular formula, we are using Alimentum for Owen and he does fine. He is MSPI and doesn't tolerate regular formula.

I may have her switch us back to Nutramigen instead (we are on Neocate now) and then try the regular at 6 months. I'll see what she says. How long can they sustain on just formula?

My mom told me about a ladies little boy who was well over 2 and only drank formula. They tried to get him to eat but he didn't want to have anything to do with any other food. I don't think he had reflux though, the doc said as long as he is growing fine he isn't worried.
I wouldn't worry yet, he still has time with the solids since he is just over 2 months old. He will probably be fine if you start with cereal at around 4-6 months old.

Camille did terribly with the ceral. It gave her gas when she was 2 months, she did not do any better at 4. Good Luck!

Thanks guys, I will stick with the Thick It and the runny poo until he is older. What did Camille finally end up eating?
