When is too early to lose the bottle? It almost seems like K drinks more from her sippys... well over the course of the day I mean. Is there a time that it's too early to only use sippys?

How old is she now, Michele?

lol Janette I left that out cause it's in my signature lol she's 9 1/2 months :)

Remember that I can't see any of the signatures anymore? Roni took them out for me so that I'm still able to post without taking 5 mins. per responce.

I don't think that 9 1/2 months is too early to switch to the sippy cup. If that's what she prefers, then go with it. She'll probably still want her bottle at bedtime for a while though.

I agree with Janette. If she prefers the sippy cup than go with it.

Kaylin ditched her bottle at 10 months old. It's not too early at all. If that's what Kaitlyn wants, let her have it.

Eliana just ditched her bottle herself at 16 mos (now 16 1/2mos). Let her tell you what she wants :-) Lucky you!

She really doesnt get a bottle at bed time anymore... i try to give her something before bed but most of the time she hardly drinks it. Lately we have been getting up, having breakfast (pancake or waffle or whatever), then bottle, then snack, maybe sippy, lunch, definitely sippy, dinner, sippy... the i give her a little bottle before bed...

Anyway, if it's not too early, I'm going to see how she does with only the sippy... with the exception of the after breakfast bottle, she likes that one I think.

Anyway, thanks.

I agree with the other ladies, I don't think it's too young. Actually, you're probably pretty lucky as many kids like to keep the bottle around awhile.

Cady's firmly attached to her bottle. She can have sippy's of milk all day long, then still reach out to the cupboard with her bottles in it at least 3 to 4 times a day. Who am I to tell her no? The ped. said to let this child decide when she's done. So, that's what I'm going to do. I just give her less in her bottles, since she takes so much in cups now. When she gets to the end of her small amount of milk in her bottle, she chucks it angrily across the room and cries for a solid 5 minutes.

Wow.... I think K could care less what the drink comes out of hahahah I just happen to like the morning bottle with her... Maybe I will try ONLY sippy's and see how she does... she likes them cause they are fat and little and she can maneuver them around I think... or something... then again maybe she just thinks she's a toddler! :) hahahahahaha

If K wants a sippy, go with the sippy! :) I dont see anything wrong as long as she's still getting the appropriate intake then have at it ;)

More power to you, Michele!

Catherine is exclusively sippy cup except for when she's sick, and then she won't touch one. Bottle only.

This weekend we're going to work on drinking from a water bottle (like a bottle of spring water) as an SLP told me spout-type sippies are no different from bottles for oral development and strengthening of mouth/jaw muscles.
