Eliana has been off her bottle for 1 1/2 weeks now. She self weaned herself to my surprise. But I am worried as her fluid intake is less. Any suggestions to make sure she is getting enough liquids for her age (she is 16 1/2 mos)?

Not to worry; it's normal for the fluid intake to go down once they're weaned from the bottle. Just watch for any signs of dehydration, which would be highly unlikely unless she's not drinking at all or is sick. If you're still worried, just make sure she gets extra fluids through things like jello, yogourt, fruits, vegies, etc.

thanks ... she has actually been a bit sick this week. she won't drink juice and HATES applesauce, jello and yogurt. she eats about 2 tablespoons a day of table food and sometimes none. if she ahs lost weight again when we go for a weight check at WIC April 7th then when we go see the GI April 14th I will def say something....thanks again Janette

That's good that she's being weighed so soon. If nothing else, it will give you peace of mind. If she is losing weight, there are different supplement routes that you can go. Has weight loss been a problem with her in the past? If she's now mobile, a bit of weight loss or at least maintenance is normal.

I'm hoping and praying she hasn't lost anymore weight. She's been mobile for a long time now.

Is the doctor concerned that she didn't gain anything from 12-16 months?

I know WIC was concerned last time we had a visit. She went to the dr a couple days ago but the sitter took her and forgot to ask the weight but the nurse took it with her clothes and shoes on and on the big scale so it's not accurate. every dr she has seen isn't all that concerned as she is petite like me. and I know we are both petite but that still doesn't mean anything to me. she has genes from me and her father.

her weight was slightly up in Jan to 17lbs 6oz but then went down for the first time EVER in March
