Justin is still in the hospital and no one is any closer to why and what is going on yet. He had a lower gi yesterday to rule out any strictures which it did. He will be going for a colonoscopy tomorrow or friday to see if it shows anything. I am just so tired of all the waiting.
The doc has said that his colon doesnt seem to be working right now. He checks it everyday and the left side where the pain is he has no bowel sounds and very minimal on the right side. The doc is not sure why and realizes that this is a new problem for him. Justin has delays in his stomach and small intestine so are we now looking at delays in the large intestine also who knows.
I am just hoping that they finally get answers and let us go home soon. I am tired of being here and want to sleep in my own bed soon. It is now on 9days that he has been in here so hoping not to much longer. Thanks for listening.

No bowel sounds on the left and minimal on the right? Have they ruled out a blockage? Even a scope will not rule it out if it is one located high. Are his bowels working at all right now? Do they have him on a clear diet? Any suspicions at all? Is he doing ok? Yeah, stupid question, but is he taking this allright now... I mean being trapped in the hospital? Poor kiddo and poor you! I hope something is going to enlighten them soon.

To answer some questions for everyone. Justin is 13yrs old and yes still deals with the battle of reflux and delayed gastric emptying. He right now is still not allowed to eat and is on TPN and has been now for over a week.
When he was orginally admitted the docs did many xrays and a CT scan with contrast to rule out any obstructions. As of today he is still not moving his bowels independently. He had a scope on fri and recieved enough of the cleanout meds for 4 people and still was not completely cleaned out.
The docs still really feel that it is a motility issue with his colon but are still going to see if there is anything else going on. The gi today mentioned that he may want to do another CT to make sure things are still okay.
Also right now he has a blood infection in the line and not sure if they are going to have to pull it or not. He started antibiotcs today and will continue with them. They drew more blood and will see tomorrow when the resutls come back how bad the blood infection is. That is about it for now and will update again.
Thank you all for your support and concerns.

How full your hands are right now. {{{hugs}}} Any closer today for figuring things out? Blood infections are scary business so I hope he is responding to meds for that.
Tell him I think he is a trooper.
Get some sleep if you can. Hope the chair or cot you have is at least somewhat comfy. (I know how awful they can be so I hope yours is at least a bit cushy.)
