Should I take a gamble and try regular formula? The Ped had us try Lacto-Free b/c he didn't like the taste of the regular stuff and we were not sure if it made him more gassy. So, her process of elimination was to first try reg. formula, then lacto-free, then soy, and so on. We never got past Lacto-Free.

Plus, he had been on expressed breast milk first and lacto-free is the sweetest so she thought he would like it best. However, it didn't necessarily mean that he was lactose-intolerant.

It would sure be nice to be able to buy the less expensive stuff - but, of course, I will do what is best for him!

I bought a small can and thought I'd try mixing them to see what happens. Should I dare try it?

Lacto-free (Enfamil) is the same price as regular formula here. It used to be several dollars more a RTF can when my son was one it, way back when.

I say go for it... you wont know unless you do!! I tried three times to switch K back, to three different (regular & soy) formulas... it was a no go... I agree how nice it would be to buy some REGULAR formula.... lol

but go for it... though you might want to just go all for the regular since that way you'll know for sure if it is causing issues.

Good luck!!

It's pretty similar in price here, too. But I'd love to be able to buy the regular stuff in bulk at Sam's or Costco, you know?

You can always go back to it if the regular stuff does not agree with him. Ben was on lacto free as a baby due to being gassy, it helped him some. He transitioned just fine to milk at a year. But if he has a ton of dairy, I do notice he is a bit gassy, but no major GI problems.
