Christian will be one in just a few weeks and they are talking about putting him on pediasure.
With that in mind.....
What formula/supplement do you guys use?
Where do you buy it?
Are any of your kids on medicaid - how does it get paid for? - how about wic?
Thanks in advance.

ALexys is 14 mos old, and still on formula (Isomil). Wic pays for 9 cans of formula for her a month...although they will NOT cover soy milk, or rice milk which we are switching to next month. I THINK they cover pediasure, but I was under the impression that pediasure was only a supplement and not to be used in place of formula/milk just in addition to it.

Daniel takes Nutren Junior with Fiber. His GI wrote a prescription for it, and we get it through a medical supply company along with our bags and extension tubes. Our old insurance wouldn't pay for food, but our new insurance will pay 85%.

Eliana was on soy formula (prosobee) and we swtiched to rice milk. the GI said that there is NOT enough calories in rice milk. she is now (as of last week) on whole milk as long as she can handle it and pediasure.
if you get a prescription from your DR as to what she needs to be on, why and for how long WIC should cover it. call to see if you qualify for wic. insurance might cover it, you would have to call and find out.

Jusitn is older but when using tube feeds he is on neocate 1 plus. We do have medical assistance along with our private insurance. In the state of PA there is a medical loop hole. This allows families to get the help that they need when their insurance wont cover everything.
Our insurance wont cover any feeding supplies or the pump so our medical assistance covers everything. If your insurance will cover you may have to go through a medical supply company. We have a home health angency where we get all of our supplies. I also know some people that get theirs through wic. I do wish you luck.

Andrew has to take Polycose, which is a powder form, for added calories on all foods, and we also use Carnation Instant Breakfast in his milk, his dietician recommended this, more so then pediasure.
Is you child FTT? Is that why they want you to supplement?
Why do they want you to continue formula at 1? Allergies?
Edited to say:*feeling like a jerk* I didn't realize until I hit submit reply that this was TUBE FEEDING...So forget all of my questions, as they are obvious to me now....
